As we head into the busiest time of the year, we’re here to keep you informed with the latest market trends and data insights. Over the next 7 weeks, we’ll share key facts and figures to help you navigate the challenges and opportunities of peak season with confidence.
Carrier availability is on the rise: November kicked off with a notable increase in capacity following the end-of-month surge in October.
One standout figure is an 18% week-on-week increase in the availability of artics on the platform – great news for those gearing up for Black Friday and holiday season demands.
The TEG Index for all vehicle types dropped to 98.6 in Week 45, compared to 100.9 in Week 44.
Haulage vehicles: Decreased from 101.4 (Week 44) to 98.4 (Week 45).
Courier vehicles: Dropped from 100.4 (Week 44) to 98.8 (Week 45).
This decline suggests easing pressure on pricing as carrier availability starts to pick up.
Pricing remains up year-on-year: Despite the week-over-week drop in the TEG Index, the price per mile is up 7% on artics copared to Week 45 last year, reflecting ongoing challenges such as rising operational costs, fluctuating fuel prices, and high seasonal demand.
As peak season ramps up, we’ll be here every Monday to keep you informed. Whether it’s availability trends, pricing shifts, or capacity hotspots, our updates are designed to help you make better decisions and maximize efficiency during this critical period.
